Queries

Pricing

My standard rate is $20 per thumbnail. However, the price may vary depending on the complexity of the concept, the amount of compositing, asset creation, and editing involved.

Once we agree on the thumbnail concept, we can discuss and finalize the price based on the scope of the work.

Turnaround Time

My usual turnaround time is 1–3 days. The exact delivery timeline will be confirmed once you approve the concept(s). Please note that delays in receiving feedback may extend the final delivery date.

Rush projects may be accommodated depending on my availability and may include an additional fee.

A/B Testing

A/B testing can be done in two ways:

  1. Additional thumbnails: You can order completely different concepts to test which one performs better.
  2. Small variants: You can request free variations during the feedback process, such as different text, color changes, or other minor adjustments.

Additional thumbnails created specifically for A/B testing are available at a discounted rate.

Communication

I prefer using Discord chat for communication throughout the project.

Packages & Retainers

If you need thumbnails for multiple videos, I offer discounted package rates based on the number of thumbnails ordered.

For clients looking for ongoing thumbnail design, I also offer monthly retainers with custom pricing based on your expected workload, frequency, and requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What information/assets should I provide?

To get started, I'll typically need:

  • Video title(s)
  • Detailed video brief
  • High-quality photos (if applicable)
  • Reference images
  • Upload deadline
  • Any important factual requirements or restrictions

If you're looking for a customized concept that involves photos of yourself or someone else, feel free to share the idea with me before taking the photos. I can guide you on the appropriate pose, angle, framing, and other details to help us get the best possible result.

What's your step-by-step process when we work together?
  1. You send me the video details and assets.
  2. We discuss the thumbnail concepts together.
  3. I create a couple of concept mockups/sketches, and you choose and finalize one or more concepts.
  4. I confirm the turnaround time and price based on the number and complexity of the thumbnails.
  5. I start designing and keep you updated throughout the process.
  6. I share a watermarked preview for you to review.
  7. We refine the design based on your feedback until you're happy with the final result.
  8. I send you the payment request/invoice.
  9. Once the payment is completed, I deliver the finished thumbnail(s).
How do you decide on the concept?

If you already have a clear concept in mind, feel free to share it with me before we begin.

If you don't have a specific concept, you can provide a general idea for the thumbnail along with a few reference images showing the style or direction you prefer. I'll then develop one or more concepts in the form of mockups/sketches based on your input, which we can discuss and refine together before moving forward.

What is included in your final delivery?

The final delivery includes the finished thumbnail in PNG or JPG format, ready to upload.

Layered source files (PSD) are not included by default. If you need the PSD, it can be purchased for an additional 80% of the thumbnail fee. The PSD file will include editable layers organized into folders for easier editing and future use.

What happens if I'm not satisfied with the thumbnail?

I like to make sure we're on the same page before I start designing. That's why I share and discuss the concept with you beforehand and keep you involved throughout the process.

If something doesn't feel quite right, no worries! Just let me know what you'd like to change, and we'll work through the revisions together until the design feels right for you.

How do you accept payments?

I usually accept payments through PayPal or Wise.

Do you use AI in your design process?

I may use AI-assisted tools in certain parts of my workflow—for example, to create starting assets, improve low-quality images, generate supporting elements, or enhance certain aspects of the design.

However, I don't use AI to generate the entire thumbnail. The concept, composition, design decisions, editing, compositing, and final execution are handled by me using my own creativity and design skills. AI is simply a tool within my workflow, not a replacement for the design process.

Project Terms

  1. Once the concept is approved, major changes to the concept are treated as a new concept.

  2. Once a thumbnail has been approved as final and delivered, further modifications may be treated as a new revision/project.

  3. Whenever possible, please provide revision requests in one consolidated message rather than sending multiple scattered requests.

  4. Concept approvals, revision requests, and final approvals should be communicated through the agreed project chat platform so there is a clear record of the project.

  5. The client is responsible for ensuring that the thumbnail accurately represents the video's content and does not contain misleading or unauthorized claims.

  6. Unless otherwise agreed, I reserve the right to showcase completed thumbnails in my portfolio and social media for promotional purposes. If you want confidentiality, you can tell me beforehand.

  7. Client-provided materials and unreleased video/project information will be treated as confidential and will not be intentionally shared with third parties.
